Bere Island
Welcome to Bere Island!

Edel & I own and run The Lawrence Cove Lodge here on Bere Island. In my father's and grandfather's time where the Lodge stands now was known as the Coal Yard. It was where the British Army kept its supply of coal for its barracks and quarters. It was obviously well positioned, being only a few yards from the quay and in the heart of the village. That's why, in 2002, we decided to use the site to build The Lodge, as purpose designed accommodation for today's visitors to the island.


My idea of a real holiday is to be able to do what you want, when you want and at least cost an bother. So, that's how we try to organise things at the Lodge -- and I'm here to make sure it works for you.

We offer various room configurations and we charge on a per person basis either Bed & Breakfast or Self-catering with rates ranging from €20. to €35. per adult depending on room choice. Self-catering guests may order breakfast from day to day during their stay at €7. per person.


Our Rooms:

We have Family Rooms( 2 Adults with 2 or 3 children), Double or Twin Rooms, Single Rooms, and small Dormitories (up to 8 Bunk Beds). All our rooms are en-suite, and one double has special needs facilities. The Lodge itself is wheelchair friendly throughout.
